I noticed a few days ago that the front speakers in my 2005 Golf weren't working all the time. Also, I had a bit of an emergency and discovered that the door open button also didn't function.
This evening, I took a look at the issue and discovered that when I move the rubber boot between the door and the pillar that the speaker turns on / off. Obviously there is a break in the wiring there. To compound matters, the airbag is now showing as a fault.
Evidently there seems to be a break in the wiring going to the door which is causing the speakers, airbag and door unlock not to work correctly. This sounds like a manufacturing issue.
I am surprised to find no mention of a recall for this. Anyone had a similar experience?

Ive had to fix my driverside door loom twice! Seems wiring is too tight and corrodes easy! 1st time i fixed it it was easy, 2nd time was a pain in the arse, wire had corroded just inside the door frame, which made soldering a nightmare!
