Hi all
Can anybody please tell me if I can replace my reg plate lights on a Mk5 GTI. 2006
I was looking @ LED's but I have head different opinions on the light out warning lamp on the dash.
Has anybody done it?
If so how and what bulbs have they used and where are they from?
Thanks in advance

Me and a few other's have done this and they look amazing!
There are a few people selling them on Fleabay so try there. :happy2: Oh and no bulb out warnings on the dash either!
-
my mate done this and said i need to get a resistor fitted to stop the warning light, but will have to find out more
-
i've done this mod too, i have two white leds with built in resistors and they throw up no bulb out or overheat :happy2:
-
Can any of you post a link to the ones you got?

I got mine from a member on here, 'robokn' but I don't think he does them any more? :chicken:

Are you sure that the reg plate bulbs are wired into the bulb out warning system as I had a reg plate bulb go a while and no light came one, only realised when a friend said that one of them was out?!

Try taking both of your reg plate bulbs out, then the warning lamp will come on.
No point in having it really if you have to have two bulbs out to get the warning lamp to work!

Anyone have a photo of how the rear looks with LED's installed?
Is it just like E90's etc, or is it a bit wannabe looking?
-
it bathes the plate in white light rather than yellow, no wannabe about it imho, but with my candy paint it makes the back very clean looking
no pics though

Same here and looks great against my black paint.
No pics at the mo but may be able to get some over the weekend. :happy2:
