Alright fella's,
Looking for some advise on this, I fitted a set of S3 brakes to my mk5 Gti there a few months ago. They were put on by a garage with plenty of meat on the discs and pads so didn't need to get new ones.
Recently enough I had to brake hard on the motorway as id missed the slip off and quickly had to jump in and as you can imagine it was quite a close call haha. Ever since then every time I seem to brake the steering wheel would vibrate and jump all over the place, it gets even worse the harder I brake. They also screech very loud even when I'm driving! (Screeching has been there since day 1)
Anyone any idea what it must be?
Any help would be great!

Sounds like you may have warped the disks
Try a fresh set and see if it cures it :happy2:

I thought that, but no obvious signs of it! They are fairly expensive over here though as well :(

not something you normally see mate, you would need a DTI to see a warped disc.

Warped discs

Get somebody to run a DTI clock over them while on the car. A deflection on the gauge will confirm.
Even if you went the economical route to rectification by skimming it would probably only happen again unless you isolate a cause and rectify it.
Could be worth checking pad material. Sometimes performance materials don't work well on the road out of the environment they were designed to operate in.
Are your pads and discs OE or third party? I'm inclined to think that there's a quality issue with parts here though. Any car with serviceable brakes should be able to execute an emergency stop from high speed without damaging braking components.
Wheel vibration can also be caused by pad deposits bonded to the disc surface, only experienced this on track though.

Thanks for the comments guys. They are OE discs but I'll deffo get them tested just to be sure!

sounds like discs

Vibration on braking sounds like warped discs, but you mention screeching even when driving. If you mean they screech without brake applied then sounds like something is rubbing or caliper is seized. Worth checking that discs clear your wheels and caliper not seized.
