Put my car in for a major service and they found my DSG oil is leaking from a pipe and similar with my AC and the radiator pipe was leaking too (that which I knew before the service) I am thinking of fixing it when I upgrade my intercooler.
Funny enough in July I got my DSG and AC service done with VW. AC compressor was seized so they changed it. Now apparently they did not touch any of the pipe while servicing my DSG and fixing my AC.
Question I ask over and over again is are they mugging me off?????????????

I ended up paying £620 after discount which I haggled. Price includes major service and fixing my AC and DSG leak.

It's a common problem that when you work on one system, you'll likely damage others if you're not careful. Main dealers aren't the most caring mechanics, so in future I'd recommend taking it to a local specialist that'll treat it like one of their own. This is a case of super bad luck I'm afraid.

Their nicknames (Dealers) on forums are Stealers for a reason

My mum had some work done on her MK2 GTI there about 10 years ago and they broke her gearbox, they said they just moved the car and it broke but she has a specialist look any he said there was huge force involved to do that much damage so obviously someone f*cked a gear going for a joy ride. They paid out about 2 years later, so you can guess what we think of them now :fighting:

Thanks to all you guys i now know better. i only went cause its dealers and it was my first experience with main dealers. bunch of "cow boys". Can any1 recommend good VW specialist near me pls... London, Wapping E1W.
I will go today and raise hell!!! They worked on my AC pipes but did not secure the rubber seal under the clamp so the pipe had room for movement when it shouldn't have and also they f'd up my engine cover mounts and rubber coupler for my CF carbonio Intake. It is soo loose and they thought i would not notice!! Just can't believe i paid them cow boys £310 to fix what they may have caused :(

I just bought my Scirocco from Alan Day about a month ago :scared:
Luckily I live quite far away so I will not be using them to take care of service items. However I will say there was another person over on the Scirocco forums the other day who, like you, didn't have a good word for Alan Day.
Prompts me to remember I haven't had the V5 through for the 'Rocco yet, I'd better chase that up!

You could use AMD tuning based in Thurrock

Have used AMD, good bunch. My dealer used to be alan day. Enough said.

help please, my car is not feeling well :sick:
whould the stealers reset my ECU during major service? my car was remapped and now it does not have the same respond as before... my colleague thinks they have by hearing the sound of my car with holding the rev at 1800. :sad1:

? Erm ?
Is it a revo? if so then you might need to redo the settings if the battery has been disconnected. If R-Tech then try second stage ignaction on, hold the foot brake on then push the throttle and the rev needle should jump up to 1000 for map 1, press throttle again 2000 for map 2 etc.
Those are the only two i know.

it was done by QSTuning. i will go to the dealers today after work and see if they own up and say they have played or reset my ECU.
bdw do i turn the ignition on and keep it on 1000 rev for few seconds?

Sorry i should have been more clear.
So switch the car full on without starting it (all the dash lights light up)
Press and hold the brake and keep pressed until end of this.
Quickly press the throttle all the way down and release. If it's a R-Tech map it will then move the RPM needle up to 1000 to Show map 1, 2000 for map 2 etc... to switch the map to the next number press the throttle again.
Once switched to the map you want release brake peddle and start car.
It will then save that map and start in that map from now on.
Other tuners use other ways, can't see any info on QSTuning. Might be worth giving them a call to see if it drops back to default if the battery is removed (like the REVO)
