What's best for cleaning up dirty exhurst pipes?

I use meguiers nxt metal polish http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/meguiars-nxt-all-metal-polysh-cat20.html
Rub it on and polish it off,they come up a treat

Cool, cheers! Seems everyone I clean them with soap or whatever they come up ok but caked in crap again a week later! Will give it a try.

The very nature of them being exhaust pipes means they won't stay clean forever,my decay ones get very sooty but clean up well.

Engine cleaner. , let it sit for a few minutes , wash off. Then 0000 grade wirewool and some Autosol metal polish and 20 minutes of graft.

Seemed to do the trick on my heavily soiled baked on pipes when I bought my GTI.

Give them a going over with 0 grade wire wool and autosol, apply a bit more and then buff. Will make future cleaning a doddle  :happy2:
