I fitted a Neuspeed induction kit & a Rev G diverter valve on the weekend, and now I get sort of a high pitch squealing/squeaky sound under hard acceleration, its not all through the rev range, maybe for 2 secs in each gear?
anyone help with this? how to get rid of it?

Any change in performance?
Maybe the squeeling is air escaping from a leake somewhere. make sure all the clamps are done up tight. includind the DV bolts

When I had a TWINtake air intake fitted to my GTI, it used to make a wooing sound on hard acceleration... it was just a characteristic of the design of the pipework!
It could be something like this, or maybe a leak somewhere

I get this on my ITG Maxogen, it's embarrassing.

Possible PVC when they go they squeal?
-
My standard intake sounds greeeaaaaaat :rolleye:
-
Typical with high flow intakes.
-
My intake does it aswell, i actually quite like it now.

Stock intake and a K&N filter and on light throttle mine squeals/whistles.....

how would the car behave if my PCV was on its way out? it sounded fine on boost before I had these fitted...
no real loss in power apart from the difference in low down grunt compared to the stock airbox, but that's normal. Ive fiddled with the filter side moving it up & down etc, still no different. its quite embarrassing when roaring on boost & it starts to squeak away...
someone must know how to get rid of it, any alternative solutions

Is it a harmonic whining noise during a certain rpm range? If so, it's a trait of the K03 and most aftermarket intakes, although it is worse on the smaller daimeter pipes. Plenty of vid son youtube illustrating it but i can't access them in work. I made my own 90mm intake and it's pretty much non-existant. When i had a 70mm intake (BSH) the whine was horrific

yea sort of, it's like a slight whistle/squeak almost. its just not a sound you want to hear when giving it some. Could you make me one of those intakes lol the squeaks doing my head in already? will the diverter valve have any thing to do with it at all?

Yup my PCV Valve gave a horrible squeal when that went..
replaced it and it was fine

how did your car act when the pcv was failing?

the idle raised and then dipped over and over again..... The driving was fine aside from the nasty squeal sound... It didn't affect performance but to be honest as soon as I experienced the idling and the sound I did a search and quickly replaced the PCV as I was worried about it doing any damage if I didn't

I'd have that sound without the p flo fitted though wouldn't I? or is it because the cover is off so the sound is now much louder
