Title: service cost
Post by: AliGTI on April 14, 2015, 09:31:57 pm
Good evening peeps. I've got a manual MK5 GTI with 84000 on the clock. It's MOT and service time. Does anyone know a ball park figure for a dealership vs non dealership service?

Depends if it's a major or a minor service. VW will charge £149 for a minor or £299 for a major IRC.

I paid £155 today at an independent which included getting my cam follower done (I provided the parts). I'm not that impressed with my local VW dealer who has put two scuffs in my company car doors where I assume they've opened the doors against a pillar. Therefore I won't take my own car to them. Company car has to go there as part of the lease agreement

I paid £118 for genuine OEM filter, oil and a replacement filter housing (as this was leaking) from a local independent garage.

£180 was the standard for a DSG service at VW when I got mine done a few months back.
