Twice over the past couple of weeks my moonroof has been opened upward when I exit the car...and I didn't open it during the drive. Today I was driving and this time I heard it pop up again. I barely jiggled the switch which I kept in the 'all closed position' and it returned to being closed. I just want to ask if any of you have had this experience and was it the operating switch before I go out and replace it.
Thanks for any real experiences shared.... :happy2:

Can't give you a solution but I've got the same problem. Sunroof seems to have a mind of it's own, decides to tilt of it's own accord. Never even use the sunroof!

My sunroof on two occasions over almost 2 years decided to do it's own thing.
Turned engine off, turned it back on, opened and closed and that was the end of it.
Both times were spaces about a year apart too.
It's easy enough to get the plastic covering off the sunroof and take a look at the wires for yourself. Could have been water ingress or something simple!
You don't have an aftermarket alarm by any chance? That interfered with the sunroof on a friends mk4 gti.
-
Nope, no aftermarket alarm. I'll have a look at the wiring for it and see if there's anything obvious.

mine is fine since the day I bought the car. fine meaning no funny thing and only open/close when I use the switch.
pretty weird judging from your description
