Hi all had a quaife diff fitted and revo mounts at the same time it was all put back together and now seem to have loads cabin noise and gearbox whine.is this normal or is there something wrong with the box
-
From my experience on my mkiv - I had vibratechnics mounts and they were noisy in terms of putting vibrations into the cabin.
Car drove very well with them, though - very little drivetrain movement & absolutely no slop, but the rear view mirror was shaking when stationary...
I had the same car fitted with a Quaife diff (mounts were sold off very soon after fitting!), and it made no more noise to my ears than the standard box. Grip was transformed though...

So with the mounts fitted did u have much more transmission noise
-
I fitted some Revo mounts on mine few weeks ago and when accelerating I have a bit of a whine/droan type sound, I just presumed was the vibrations from the mounts...

Yes - I could hear the transmission more. It's hard to describe - the car sounded more gravelly. I don't think the diff will have been fitted incorrectly in yours, or the car wouldn't be driving now!
Pretty sure yours is normal.
How does the diff feel?! Transformed the grip?
-
Yep ur correct gravily sounding.diff has completly transformed the car it pulls through a corner so more smoothly
