Title: Oil Filter Housing
Post by: GTiBlues on April 20, 2015, 01:36:01 pm
Had to change the oil housing as my old one was murdered up tight and rounded off. Its been about 16,000 miles since the filter been changed as far as im aware of.

Got the housing off and to find the filter caved in and the tube missing. Would this cause oil pressure issues?

Now the car pulls well and revs freely. Also on idle the car is so much quieter!

Also recently changed my oil and genuine vw filter (mann filter) my filter was also sucked in after 10k miles

Strangely tho since changing it around a thousand miles ago the car seems to run much smoother and hasn't used a single drop of oil where as it always used to like a little top up every 1,000 miles!

I bought my car on 88,000mi. It's now on 103,500mi. I've done a service last year when I did my cambelt. I like to change the oil every 5-6,000mi. As I said above I couldn't do the filter.

Now the car warms up so much quicker and genuinely driver so much better.

I'm asking if that tube had anything to do with oil pressure?
