Title: Running stage 2 with just a panel filter?
Post by: GTI_Kyle on April 20, 2015, 05:11:19 pm
Has anyone ran stage 2 with just an aftermarket panel filter?

already have a full neuspeed induction but missing the low down grunt, and the high pitched whistle is annoying. Is a full induction kit a necessity for stage 2?

In order to achieve maximum results its suggested a reliable induction kit, rev g diverter, intercooler and cutback exhaust for a stage 2 map to be fully efficient and achieve maximum results. So just a panel filter potentially may not be good enough. The guys at r-tech recommend, k&n ITG revo etc. Plus be aware on the stage 2 your clutch is more prone to slip if its a manual DSG is obviously 400+ torque worthy.

it is DSG so no problems on that side, both the box & ECU will be getting mapped at same time. Hopefully the catless downpipe will be loud enough to drone out the noise of the high pitched whistle  :sad1:

I wasn't a fan off the intake but once you got downpipe fitted they compliment each other nice and once remapped you get a lovely blow off flutter from the intake... Quite an addictive sound haha
