Title: ticking from steering
Post by: AliGTI on April 20, 2015, 11:32:39 pm
Hiya guys and gals.

I'm having a strange ticking/clicking sound when using a lot of steering lock at slow speeds, for parking and such. It doesn't seem like a regular click ot tick from a worn CV joint, but does happen close to the extent of full lock. Any ideas?

I had something similar. I had a worn top mount bearing

Could be steering rack. I've got a similar noise.

Hmm I've had the garage take a look because I was getting nowhere fast. They spent about half an hour checking things over and decided to re torque the steering rack bolts. After they had done this the problem went away, for a few hours. Now the fault is back. Any suggestions?
