Took my 2007 Edition 30 DSG for a short drive yesterday and while moving in slow traffic the accelerator stopped providing acceleration yet the gear indicator said it was in gear. The engine then stalled. I was able to put the car into neutral and restart it then got back home. Later on I went to start the car and all good, went down the road and engine management light came on and when coming to a stop engine stalled again.
Got it home and started again but would only idle for a few seconds then stall again. Plugged my scanner in (eBay special) and no fault codes but eml still on. Disconnected the battery and left for 5 then reconnected and it started and was able to idle for about a minute then died again. I have ordered Ross tech and will have it tomorrow so will scan when I get it.
Any ideas from anyone from what I'v said? I do have a forge catch can that I'v noticed a fine layer of oil on the hoses so I'm thinking possible that may have a leak in it?
Any ideas would be appreciated :happy2:

Mine did exactly that last October - kept dying at idle in 'D' or 'N' one evening. Turned out to be the LPFP, but I wasn't getting an EML. Error code that showed up on mine was P310B.
VW changed the LPFP & then the car was showing an EML, despite the fuel pressure being correct when they did their data logging. The diagnosis then was that a new LPFP sensor was needed - 06E 906 051K. That was changed and the car has been ok since.

Cheers for the help Dave :happy2:
I'v auto scanned the car and an intermittent LPFP has been recorded.
Also, rather embarrassingly, my catch can was full so I'v emptied that and car now idles without stalling. Just letting it get up to temp now to see if it'll stall then gonna take it for a run and see if it happens again. I'll scan it again when I get back.
Thanks again for the help and part number

No worries - hope the catch can is all it was then!

Looks like it's more than the catch can. It ran fine for about 5 mins then stalled again :sad1: Running another scan now

Looks like the problem is with the LPFP. I think I'll try the sensor first then look into the pump. Do you know where the sensor is Dave? @Dave J (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6566)
I do have a 4WD LPFP, anyone know if this can be used??

@fuscobal (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1393)
Is it as easy as your build thread seems, do I need coding done or is it plug and play?
Any help would be great mate :happy2:

Was plug and play for me with only the floating mechanism mod ! TTRS pump should be ok with no software mod but could burn the OEM controller, in which case you should also buy the TTRS one ! For me the OEM controller worked fine and I've had a few track days with it on the TTRS pump !

Thank you dude :happy2:

Iv replaced the thrust sensor and it appears to be fine now - fingers crossed!! Thanks guys :happy2:
