Title: Stage 1 remap scotland
Post by: DMAC92 on April 21, 2015, 05:57:04 pm
Been eavesdropping this forum for a while and finally took The plunge and created an account.

Looking to get my first mod this weekend, taking advantage of SOS Motorsport remap offer at the moment.

Has anyone else had dealings with them? Can't find a bad review although they are around half the price of a REVO stage 1 (both withRR). Too good to be true?

For me I'd just stick to the well know mappers such as revo, apr , r tech etc. every where you look there is a place that can 'remap' your car but me personally I wouldn't look twice at them. Every tom dick and Harry thinks they can map cars well in truth it isn't that simple if you want a job done well.

Is it really worth the extra £300 though? Would be interested to hear from anyone who has used them before.

£725 quoted for a REVO + SPS

Would really like to hear any feedback members have on SOS in Falkirk? Google produces a few positive reviews. Also the fact he has a RR gives me more confidence in their ability?

Then don't get the sps if you don't want to pay all that  :signLOL: would you be getting that kind of thing with the other company's remap? Properly not. You could be waiting a while for anyone on here to have used SOS as I for one have never Hurd of it on here

For the sake of £100 I'd be happy to pay that, very handy feature IMO.

REVO maps aren't all whiter than white either going by some reviews. Just out of interest do you have a remap?

I'm on revo 2+ and my bro has a 2.0 tsi with a revo stage 1. Based in Scotland we decided that going revo was the best and easiest option

More kudos for revo   :driver: how much did you pay? If you don't mind me asking.

Or if ur willing to go a road trip you could go to r-tech which is widely thought of as one of the best for the tfsi engines, and I think a stage 1 is only £290 if I remember correctly

Seen nothing but very positive reviews about R-Tech. 600 mile round trip would be a good way to test the map I suppose...

Have a look at their website - nothing more than file pushers using SEDOX of all file suppliers!!!!

Go with somebody that specialises in VAG or these engines, not someone that will download a file online, flash it to your car, do a power run on a RR and tell you it is custom tuned to your car.

If going generic there is Revo, APR, GIAC. If you want it custom tuned then there are a handful i would consider but none are even remotely local to you

Thanks for your help Dan_FR  :happy2: to be honest I'm really considering the 600 mile round trip to R-Tech to get a custom one?

That's the difference with someone who custom tunes (takes hours for even a basic stage 1) instead of a 10 minute map flash

It will be more than worth it

Yeah the waiting time speaks for itself really. Very impressed with the pricing, even with the cost of fuel STILL around half the price off a REVO map  :congrats:
