So today I decided to fit my setero in to my mk5 gti. All went well. Sounds good looks good, but when I took my keys out the dam thing stayed on. It seems the only way to switch it off is by removing the face plate. And I'm a bit worried I may wake up to a flat battery as it's obviously still got power even when the ingnition is off. Any body know what I have done wrong or what I can do to fix it. I used an adapter kit from halfords to attach the wires in the back.

you need to put one of the wires of the h/u to ignition live

Sometimes on vw's you need to change the red and yellow wires around, so that red goes to yellow and yellow goes to red.
That's what I did with a sony in a mk4 golf.

in the mk5 you must run a new switched live from the fag lighter or fuse box. the oe unit is controlled by canbus you see.
