just wandering how many people have used these.
I'm not talking about the eBay hobbies, more the ones you can get from the likes of euro car parts and motor factors.
Would like to know how they fit and do the genuine items fit on them ok or do they need to be modified to fit?
Going to be swapping my Jetta front bumper for one (as everything else is gti rear, skirts, interior).
-
Anyone?
-
My experience of non genuine bumpers is that they are always a bit out in fitment, so if you are ok with being 95% happy then go for it.
-
As long as they line up I'm happy, just wandering about any mouldings and grilles and how they fit into the bumper itself.
-
On my GT I had an Xparts bumper with genuine grilles, it didn't quite click together beautifully. I replaced it with genuine and was much happier.
My mate does a lot of facelifts on T5's and Caddy's using ECP bumpers, again it is ok overall, but not like OEM. The grilles are always a smidgen off.

Found a second hand one so will be picking it up on Saturday, thought I'd keep looking and one turned up that just needs paint.
-
If you have a jetta front, cant you just swap the grilles out for the gti ones?
-
I could but it would annoy the hell out of me that the two fog light grilles are different from the centre grilles.
-
All the grilles are removable and interchangable
-
The two outer grilles cut into the bumper and if I put a gti grille in there it will leave 2 notches in the corners
