Hi guys
I have read about the gains you get from the likes of Apr, maxogen etc and panel filters.
Why does no body put a cone filter on the end of the standard intake on the engine cover? Just where the ribbed bit is with the massive spring clip?
Is this a bad idea?

the standard filter would still be in the intake track that way , the kits run a pipe around to the turbo not via the standard air box which is in the engine cover :happy2:

Sorry should have said remove the standard air filter And let the cone filter do the job.
-
Thought about this myself, anyone done it?
-
I have seen it done on an American forum. Looks pretty neat but what gains does it give if any.
-
Anyone on here done this then?

Would you not be leaving the cone closer to the engine and turbo therefore leading to more heatsoke and decreased performance?
