Title: Cone filter
Post by: so1o on April 25, 2015, 03:44:18 pm
Hi guys

I have read about the gains you get from the likes of Apr, maxogen etc and panel filters.

Why does no body put a cone filter on the end of the standard intake on the engine cover? Just where the ribbed bit is with the massive spring clip?

Is this a bad idea?

the standard filter would still be in the intake track that way , the kits run a pipe around to the turbo not via the standard air box which is in the engine cover  :happy2:

I have seen it done on an American forum. Looks pretty neat but what gains does it give if any.

Would you not be leaving the cone closer to the engine and turbo therefore leading to more heatsoke and decreased performance?
