The transport lock is probably on!

It tells you on the unit itself how to disable the transport lock, there's 3 buttons you nees to press at the same time:

The eject button, the bottom button on the bank of 3 on the left and the middle button on the bank of 3 on the right. Hold these down for 5 seconds.
 :happy2:

This might help:

Did you get a manual with it?
If not, I have a spare one if you want it.

Are you pressing the LOAD button, then selecting the slot before trying to insert the cd?

I've sent you an email.

If the worst comes to it, you can have my rcd500 for nowt. The whole front is missing, but you can unscrew yours and it just slots on and is interchangeable  :happy2:

Just seen this now. Glad you got it sorted out mate, I'm happy my stereo went to a good home and not in the bin. That's the whole point in these forums for me, helping each other out when we need it
