Title: Breaks and Clutch for Stage 2
Post by: jacobrownoly on May 03, 2015, 07:19:36 pm
Hi guys, I have my GTI flashed at revo stage 2. Feel I should be uprating the clutch and especially the breaks, any one recommend what I should be going for without having to spend loads.

Many thanks

I don't know about the clutch either helix or Sachs is the best bet with dmf
And s3/r32/k1 brake upgrade is your best bet for money as I've just put k1 brakes on mine last week and they are really good !

ive gone for uprated sachs clutch rated at 650nm and lightweight single mass flywheel. so much more throttle response and car revs alot more freely now to. i fitted mine myself so only cost £650 in total for parts.

brakes youve got s3/r32 ones. ttrs/rs3 which ive gone for or your got aftermarket ones from brembo and ap etc.
all depends on budget and use at the end of the day.

Cupra/S3 brakes are more than enough, I have used them on my Stage 2+ Cupra for years with Tarox F2000 disks and good pads.
They were perfect on road and good on track. I've changed them with AP for better cooling, not for stopping power, but I've got over 360 bhp.
For a stage 2 Gti they are perfect and cheap.

How do the s3 brakes compare to the nqsbbk?

Noticeably heavier and less pistons to start with..

I have NQSBBK fronts and S3 rears on my Stage2+ Eddy and more than up to the job of stopping all those wild ponies. Yes they suffer from a touch of fad after a bit of heavy and sustained braking but for less than £1k you can't fault it.

Adding the S3 is a great mod IMHO and has really evens up the bias while braking when added to a front BBK.

Ohh and clutch.....Organic Helix clutch with a OEM DMF for a great feel and a fast road clutch.
