Title: Looking to paint a set of calipers, bit of advice needed!

I have just bought a set of rear calipers for my edition 30 off here, and the guy who sold them has had them fully refurbished but I want to change the colour from red to black. Now as the paint is in perfect condition do I need to sand all the paint off back to the metal, or just s slight rub down to make a key for the paint to stick?

scuff them up id say. there's no right or wrong answer really.

just scuff them up to give the paint something to bite to.
