Title: Colour coding - costs?
Post by: shoaybmakda on May 05, 2015, 06:22:36 pm
Hi all

Just a question to see how much people have paid to get their mk5 gtis colour coded?

I've just bought a ED30 rear valance for my mk5 and my painter has said he will do my entire back bumper and skirts for £360 (skirts will need sanding down etc but bumper is just paint)

I paid £300 for lower rear bumper, skirts, and front lip. All had to be smoothed.

I'm paying 400 for rear valance (GTI), skirts, and Ed30 front sprayed and fitted.

Could have maybe found somewhere a bit cheaper but I've got a lot of confidence in my bodyshop, I've used them for years and always had brilliant results.

It's in the bodyshop as we speak :-)

If you don't mind me asking where did you get your ED30 front from? Is it OEM?

Yeah it's genuine. Got it from VW with a bit of discount.

Can I ask how much you picked it up for?

Can't remember exactly because it was along with a few other bits. I asked for the discount because I'd just forked out a considerable chunk on service, belt, pump, and a rear caliper.

Mid 200s at a guess.

Just to ask for those who got the front splitter put on - is it screwed on or clipped on? Took mine to the body shop and he said because my front splitter didn't have the relevant clips he couldn't fit it? I thought the bottom splitter was just screwed on? Admittedly mine isn't oem and it is a replica but there are tabs there to manually put screws into if necessary?
