Make sure the DSG service was done at or around 40k miles, and of course regularly serviced.

Welcome to the forum.
I bought a tornado red 3dr myself a few weeks ago. Enjoy the car.
Few things to search to get you up to speed:
DV failure/revisions
PCV
Cam follower
Arch warranty
That's just the basics, good things to at least be aware of :-)
-
Do can follower ASAP, especially as 2005 models have the AXX engine :happy2:
Enjoy your new motor :drinking:

Got my ED30 DSG Tornado Red a couple of weeks and love it.
Yours is a nice looking motor and am sure you will enjoy
-
It has full VW service history with 2 cambelt changes from VW, Il have tp check the book again in regards to the DSG oil change. If not il be booking that in ASAP with VW as they quoted me £179
I'm paying £6750 for it with standard GTI seats, Winter Pack and Kenwood Satnav fitted by vw :)
Todays gonna be a long day! :D

Exciting times! Welcome along. Car looks in great condition.

Check if water pump was changed as well?
Congrats and enjoy your new GTI
-

Looks nice

I was always put off red cars but that has swayed me
-
Love the car but the bonnet release has gone :/ can't drive it till i get it sorted as I'm not risking the bonnet popping up, gutted!
-
Is it being fixed by the garage?

My Golf did this as well, the bonnet wouldn't shut after it was opened. I sprayed a load of WD40 onto the catch and let it do its magic for about half an hour then hey presto it shut
-
I had same problem with bonnet catch - clean with WD40 followed by some grease fixed the problem
enjoy the car !
-
I've tried everything and it just won't shut, booked into VW Thursday. £100 for part and labour, she looks lovely on the drive though !
-
I had the same problem a while back, try playing around with the cable. That can help. I first thought just putting some copper grease on the catch would sort it but it still wouldn't work. But just lightly tugging on the cable can help loosen it to close.
-
Mine kept sticking no matter how many times I cleaned and greased it I ended up changing the latch and half of the cable for around £35 and 10 mins of my time
