Post by: mattiey1 on May 10, 2015, 11:40:24 pm
Hi guys I lowered my car this week end on eibach springs sits lovely drives like a lowered car but in the process my battery went dead and there was an incident involving the driveshaft and cv joint coming apart which we managed to get back together but now I have the yellow power steering, abs, tyre pressure and traction control lights all on I have done the turn the wheel left right blah blah and driven the car also read the codes but there isn't any what on earth has happened here ? If anyone can shed some light on this odd situation thanks a lot :)

have you had it alligned? if tracking etc is too far out sometimes it won't allow light to reset

Yes have had the tracking done today but there still on and tbh it wasn't that far out its a strange one tbh could be battery low voltage not letting it reset? That's quiet a common one isn't it

Have you tried this

Start the vehicle.
Turn the steering wheel one turn to the right and one turn to the left.
Drive in a short distance straight line on a level surface at a speed not higher than 20 km/h.
If the steering wheel is straight during the test drive then stop the vehicle with the wheels pointed straight.
Ensure that the steering wheel is not moved again.
Keep the engine running and do not switch off the ignition.
System voltage at least 12.0 V

Yes I've tried all that now with no success in completely stuff on what has happened simply because there's no fault code or anything broken,  could I have dislodged a connection when the driveshaft popped and everything was hanging by the gator ? It's just annoying having them on now

The only sensor i noticed when changing the drive shaft was the level sensor on the control arm.

I was going to suggest a wheel speed sensor but then I read again you had a Power Steering light on. You haven't broke a ABS sensor on the hub?

Surely you'd think there would be fault codes for these things ? it could be the side of the driveshaft incident maybe that should be my first port of call ?

What did you scan it with?

I would be amazed if VCDS never picked up the fault seeing as it is logged on the cluster.

Used my code scanner little elm32 and the garage used there massive thing with touch screen you know proper job. I'm guessing it's gunna be the abs sensor on the n/s front doing it as that's where the driveshaft popped but you'd think there'd be a code at least

Ok quick update turns out it's the drivers side sensor which I've replaced, but I still have the lights and vagcom is telling me a break in the circuit, so must be a broken wire somewhere . Il take the arch liner out and go from there, it can't be so far back its unreachable right ?
