Title: Fell Asleep
Post by: illyun on December 17, 2008, 10:41:59 pm
I fell asleep at the wheel of my car 2 hours ago and ploughed into a kerb at a roundabout of the A12– long journey and should have stopped really.   :ashamed:   One of my black BBS alloys has been badly kerbed on the lip – the lip is totally misshapen although the rest of the alloy seems ok – it was good enough to keep the air in the tyre despite a chunk of rubber being taken off and I managed to drive home keeping a speed of 60mph.  I have two questions:

1. Does anyone know who could repair the alloy - if repairable - pics tomorrow.  I'm thinking spit and polish but live in Suffolk
2. I am going to purchase a spare Black Edition BBS CH alloys which has a steel lip. Does anyone know of someone who could paint the lip on the new alloy to a good quality?

So sorry to hear that Illyun, sounds like it could have been a hell of a lot worse though!

Hope you get it all sorted soon.

I dont know anyone round your neck of the woods, but Robmk5 did a great job of painting his lips, i remember him saying its a difficult job masking it though.

You'd also be best off having the alignment re-checked. A knock like that will most likely have altered it. :happy2:

Glad to hear your ok Illyun, the wheel and car can be fixed

P.S. Im sure the company I use in Wolverhampton would be able to fix the alloy. The problem you will have is colour matching.
