Title: GFB diverter valves - Yay or nay?
Post by: JimmyC92 on May 16, 2015, 07:48:35 pm
I just found out GFB are producing them for the 1.4 TSI engines, I know a lot of people put them on the 2.0 TFSI engines. Does anyone have any comments about the difference or if it's worth doing?

Surely they are better then a standard one though? I've seen so many people do it to their cars on here, just no ones put up any comments on if it's good, bad or indifferent.

There's a big thread about these, maybe one of the reviews. I think the consensus concluded that they're still not as good as a VW revision G.

That was after plenty of testing by Nick at R Tech amoungst others.

I suppose it depends how much boost you're putting through it. It would probably be ok on stock or stage 1, but you've got to ask yourself what you're gaining (if anything) for the bigger cost than an oem valve.

We (some in Denmark) are seeing that the requested boost is achieved faster and better kept than both OEM rev. D and G. Boost levels for those are 1,8 to 2,0 Bar :)
So a go from me :)

Wasn't this found when using it on a K04 rather than k03?

Has anyone got a link to an actual thread or post of proof they leak? Or aren't that good?

I always see people saying there not good but never the source of info? It must of come from somewhere.

Got one on my stage 2+ pirelli and it works fine. I don't have a boost gauge to see if it leaks but it pulls like a train. I think the had a couple of problems with the first batch but revised some part I think the plunger thing and it all works good now.

Never had a problem with mine. Hold boost nicely with no leaks and car seems to pull better with it installed.
