garrard, leafing through the handbook last night (as you do when you pickup a new car) I came across this page - It looks like the factory fitted towbar option - looks a clever bit of kit

It is quite clever and i am still to see one in the flesh .... Seen it online somewhere though .

Neat!

Some monkey of a bar fitter made a real mess of my eddy rear valance when fitting a Westfalia fixed bar. So bad was it, I have had to buy another rear bumper!

The bars on previous cars (Passat and BMW 330) were not any problem.

However, i suspect this may not be viable on a mk 7GTi?

Anyone know if this bar is fittable to a gti or an R?

And it helps protect your car.

By that I mean if a Skoda drives into you in the middle of Bedford, it makes a right mess of the Skoda and barely a mark on the CC.
