Due to a complete lack of organisation in my role as best man, I'm looking for ideas from everyone on here. I am taking my best mate from his house in Colchester, Essex to his wedding ten miles away in Feering (what a good place to get married). The big day is next Friday, 29th May.
Clearly, he could do no better than sitting next to me in my mk5 GTI. However, I thought it might be good to use something a bit different. I've looked at the usual classic car websites for something different (not a white Rolls Royce) but it's hundreds of pounds for a ten mile drive at most.
So, does anyone know of an owner of an interesting car in Essex / Suffolk with an hour or so to spare next Friday, who might want to give a couple of nervous blokes a lift?

Get a lambo

I got married last weekend and didn't care how I got to venue. I was first there along with best men so no one would see me anyway. Just made sure the bride and bridesmaids arrived in style.

Mate just give your car a really good clean inside and out so it looks nice, he'll probably be so preoccupied he won't notice. Anything decent is going to cost a few hundred quid so unless you can find someone willing to help you out for beer tokens just give yours a clean. The beauty of a gti is it looks good everywhere :happy2:

Don't bother , just use your car

Just get him there comfortably and on time!

Just get there, end off. He want care what car it is be it a Rover or a Rolls. Enjoy the day! :happy2:

My Wedding car was a Seat Ibiza as the wedding car broke down 2 miles from where it was supposed to pick me up. To be honest I didn't really care as I was more concerned about getting to the venue.

Yep, as above dont bother!
I was really hung over on the way to my wedding and just wanted to get out of the car!
Better coughing up for a dirty stripper for him the night before. :happy2:

I can understand,u want the groom to arrive in style
But....the best thing u can do is make sure he's there and both in a coherent able state, the bride(and her parents)will only be interested in that. Horse,bus,taxi,truck,car............BE THERE

Thanks, all. You were right - he didn't care what we went in. He'd been pacing a rut in the carpet waiting to leave and it was pi$$ing down anyway. I gave my car a three-hour clean and two coats of polish (which probably caused the monsoon).

Sorry to hear you had a rain storm... buy him a track day to make up for not supplying a V12 Lambo.  :drinking:
