Hi all, just thought I'd join up and see what goes on in these forums....
Took delivery of a GTI Pirelli back in August which is my first VW, Golf and GTI ....not a bad introductionhuh? Had a couple of high performance(!) Fords and Vauxhall before but they were nothing compared to the GTi - wished I'd got one sooner but that's one of the benefit of opting out of the company car scheme and spending the money on something a little more refined and 's*** off a shovel' quick! Anyway as I'm new to this forum, who's got any the facts about the Pirelli then? I've read there's only 250 out there, though no sign of any number plaques on offer (as yet) - where do I sign up. I'm also interested in adding a telephone bluetooth setup to my RNS510 unit and have heard of a few companies that install etc....any recommendations out there?
Looking at other posts I think it's 'in-keeping' with things to give you my spec....here goes: GTi Pirelli (58), 5-dr, Black, RNS510, Cruise, MFSW,auto-changer, rear-sensors and quick.....

Hi and warm welcomes,
As a Pirelli owner myself, they are fantastic cars altogether.
If you get her remapped by REVO... you will be left completely gobsmacked, you will feel like all your old cars have been 1.2 litre engines :signLOL:
No plaques for the Pirelli will come out imo.
Where abouts you from ?

Welcome to the Forum :happy2: Where are you from mate? I'm sure Darren (Mortygttdi) will be able to help you out fitting the bluetooth interface. He is fitting mine on Sat. Get some photo's of your Pirelli posted!

Hi RICH, Live in Basingstoke, though don't hold that against me! (Orignally from London - North, then South, before heading Hampshire way!!!). Am really impressed with the Pirelli; for some reason dropping my daugthers off all over the place doesn't seem such a chore! My 6 yr old even refers to the Pirelli has 'daddy's rocket'....Bless. (though it's not so could when she tells the child minder that daddy's car goes really fast.....

Oh and by the way thanks for the warm welcome from all you folks. My first forum and felt a bit of a geek if i'm honest but it's good to know that i'm not alone :signLOL:
Will post some pics when the weather better (and I've had a chance to give her a good clean!).

Haha, well if you get it Remapped by REVO you'll be left shocked, and your child minder? Expect a visit from the Social Services lol... :signLOL:

There are a few dotted around you pirelli@40! in hampshire so you wont feel alone if you ever join in one of the forum meets etc :happy2:
Plenty helpful ones aswell with any techy enquirys. :drinking:

I see the forum mod squad are already trying to spend your money for you :pomppomp:
I agree though, get a remap and if you believed that the car was fast before a remap, after it wil make your jaw drop!
-
Ewww, I work in Basingstoke :happy2:

I'll second all the remap comments. Best money you'll ever spend on a performance mod.
It just fills out the power band (which has a hole in it you don't even realise is there UNTIL you're remapped).
I switched back to stock a few weeks ago and thought there was something wrong with my car.

Welcome to the forum
Nice to see a few Pirelli owners - we must nearly be into double figures
I have not seen another on the road yet which is nice, though to be fair, most black Golfs look pretty similar to the casual eye.
I had mine mapped by the local VW Dealer (never had a car mapped before) and it really is quite shockingly fast through the gears. You feel like you are hanging on for dear life through 3rd and 4th gear !!!!
Enjoy the ownership experience and joining in this very friendly forum, the guys on here really are a fountain of knowledge

Welcome on board...and may I say what a fantastic choice of car you made...
Live long, and prosper.... :innocent:
