Title: Oil and Coolant Temp
Post by: dazza on May 24, 2015, 12:48:47 pm
I've just replaced the main stat and the inline one going to the DSG. For some reason my car does not have another inline stat behind the alternator.

Prior to this the coolant temp on polar fis would not get above 75º.

After a good run the coolant and oil temp is sitting at 94º. Is this about right?

Yep, did the same on mine recently and that's what mine is reading on the Fis.

Oil temp is higher as well now which I was a little concerned about, but seems the oil was never up to correct temp because of the faulty stat

Great! My oil temp was sitting just above 80º before changing the main stat.

Mine was a steady 85, now reads the same as coolant on a steady run, then into low hundreds when hooning

I've not been hooning yet. Still have a little DIY paranoia  :scared: after changing the cam belt, water pump, oil pickup pipe and the main stat. In theory she should be running better than ever.
