Title: MK5 GTI with ITG CAI (Sound test)
Post by: MrJohnVas on May 25, 2015, 01:07:34 am: Bought myself a new microphone for my GoPro camera and decided it would be a good idea to put the mic in my engine bay.

I strapped it directly behind my CAI (clipped to my battery).... the result sounds odd to say the least :jumping: - diesel engine sound at the very beginning :|

Post by: MrJohnVas on May 25, 2015, 11:28:31 am: Thanks - it sounds exactly the same just not as loud. The diesel engine ticking you can only hear from the outside or with the windows down on a quiet day.

Here's a video from the inside, but this is without an external microphone (GoPros inbuilt mic which is poor) and a full waterproof case on.

Just a rev D at the moment - should probably get that changed to a G considering it's been 18 months on the same DV.

I've also strategically placed the microphone in the engine bay, behind the CAI.
