As the above title says.....

I think vw got the shape spot on with the mk5, I find that the 6 and the 7 are just more advanced shapes building on the primary design of the mk 5. So to summarise mk5 ftw
-
Mk5 for me and the mk6 is nice
-
Love the mk5 and the mk6 has certainly grown on me over the years especially the R
Hated the mk7 since it was released, doesn't look like a golf to me I just hate the lines of it
People say it drives great but if I hate how it looks I don't care how it drives

Didn't like the mk6 at first but it has grown on me now
-
Not really a fan of the mk7 to be honest, not a fan of the front bumper, however, I do like the rear lights. Mk6 is growing on me
-
Sold my Mk5 Edition30 for a Mk6 R and it's perfect,hate the Mk7 as it looks more like a Seat/Audi.
-
I love the new Leon and hate the new s3 that my brother has its the most boring car iv ever driven! It has no feeling to it and looks like every other a3
Same as the mk7R looks like every other mk7 but with 4 stupid exhaust tips I see more 7R's than Vauxhall corsa's nowadays

Like the look of the Mk6 the most, not as keen on the Mk7
-
I love the MK5 hence why I bought one. Didn't like the MK6 at all because of the rear lights and other styling areas. Since seen the LED style lights and the R styling...I would love one if anything happened to my MK5.
MK7...I think the safety of the passengers and pedestrians now has taken over certain styling areas. I think the smallness of the hatch back has gone too.

Spot on! :drinking:
Love the mk5 GTI and R32, don't like the normal versions.
Hated the normal mk6 but ended up loving more the mk6 R than the R32. The GTI and GTD versions with xenon and LED lights grew on me over time.
The mk7 GTI Clubsport (Edition 40) might be the only mk7 I like atm.
-
I bought a Mk5 over a Mk6 mainly on exterior looks, still warming to the Mk7
-
I still prefer the look of the mk5 over the 6/7 the shape and especially the front of the car just does it for me it just looks more menacing  I do like the mk6 and that would probably be my next car. Totally agree about the mk7, just doesn't look like a golf.

I personally think standard mk5s look pants, only the GTIs really look the part. Even the R32 looks a bit like a Jetta at the front but I think the rear is much better looking than a GTI. I never really liked the look of the MK6 I thought at the time they had taken a step backwards, just what were they thinking with those ridiculously over sized rear lights! But now I see a mk6 gti or R I think they look very nice indeed.
When the MK7 first came out I really struggled to tell it apart from the MK6 but now I am familiar with them, I have to admit I think they are the best looking golf since the MK2. I love the sharp, angled stying. I think they look really modern without looking OTT. They also appear to sit much lower and wider than the MK5 which can only be a good thing. After I get an ED30 I will definitely be after a MK7 GTI with PP in the distant future.

You are going to struggle to get an unbiased view on here.
I always loved the mk5 as it brought Golf GTI's back to what the mk2 was all about,a drivers car and looks great as well.
mk3 had only one thing going for it was the VR6 engine and the mk4 the R32 was the best one wtf was that GTI what had 114 bhp !!??
