hey. i'm booked in for a stg1 custom map on Rototesters. The car is a gti AXX with 53k miles on it and a fresh cambelt with waterpump from vw. 200miles ago. Ordered a Rev.G DV from a member of here and checked the dipstick test and oil cap test and the car went nuts when i opened the oil cap :rolleye: anything else that i need to chec/do before rototest and map? will be dricing with shell V-power. Should i put a full tank v-power and injection cleaner?

Cam follower and budget for a new clutch in future if manual.
-
As above do a can follower, would also be good to do precat removal and panel filter to gain a few extra cheap horse powers.
If you use injection cleaner then it's a good idea to do an oil change not too long afterwards as well.
-
Defo do a Cam follower inspection if you haven't already...
PCV "seems" ok
Your clutch may slip, as said above, if so ask them to dial it back a tad, torque is fun but it destroys clutches and tyres (if not linear).
Don't do the injection cleaner this time imo, unless as above your dropping the oil... but do a few half tanks of vPower if you don't usually use it; and have enough fuel for the mapping.
Most of all, have fun on your return journey/s ;)

Injector cleaner doesn't require and oil drop afterwards... At least the bg44k doesnt

After doing some reading I changed mine after BG44K, to be fair it had been 5K so I was planning on it anyway.

I'm also booked in for a stage 1 remap in the next couple of weeks - no one told me about a clutch???
Would this need to be replaced soon after the remap? Are any other parts affected by the remap and need changing?
I've got a completely standard 2006 manual gti at present and was only thinking about doing the stage 1 remap to give it some extra power. I'm slightly hesitant now.....help!

Depends on the torque... don't go crazy with it and you'll be fine. :happy2: under 300lb-ft with a nice curve "should" be ok, but it really depends on how much life is left in your 10 year old clutch!?

If it does need replacing, what would be recommended?
What do people normally go for and what works well with the Stage 1 remap?

Helix organic clutch with new OEM DMF. As above with a good linear map it should be fine on stage 1 but you never know, some go with 40k miles stage 1 and some are fine with 100k stage 2+, it's a risk but at stage 1 it's a small one.

How about when i have a dsg gearbox? Got LC as standard. And i made a oil change let's say about 1000km 5w40 and i never filled my tank with 95. 98. Always shell v-power. So i injection cleaner wont help anything. And the cam follower, is it okay if i change it after mapping? @Scottymon (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=7640)

Whats the max. Torque i can take out from the factory dsg software? He told me i would get like 425nm and 250-260hp

Replace the fuel filter as well. Its under the rear sill on driver side. not noramally a servicable item but they do get clogged up. go for the 6.6bar version :happy2:

What's the part number of the 6.6 bar fuel filter?

Also after a fuel filter but what's different with the 6.6bar one and oem unit!
Cheers

I rechecked the part number and I ordered the correct one. It's 1K0201051K, for anyone who's interested as well.

I'd be more keen to have a custom map applied by somebody that could tell me what else they'll be checking or that would need changing before they went ahead.
-
Will be doing the cam follower and fuel filter after map. Is there any idea to go dsg stg1 juat becouse i'm mapping stg1? Will the torque be good for the box?

DSG mapping gives you more control over what gear your in, and increases clutch clamping pressure.
Not a must have for stage 1, but will complement it :happy2:

when doing the stg1 custom map and rotortest, should i do a basic dsg reset after the map?
