Title: My candy white golf gti edition 30
Post by: fuzzy232 on May 26, 2015, 08:54:55 pm
Hi, just joined today. Recently bought myself a new car i was offered and it was perfect what i was after- ended up with this stunning example of a edition 30 dsg @36k from new in candy white, has a few mods like exhaust system and air intake . eibach springs and bilstein shocks and some.merc wheels(which im.wanting to swap for some bbs /motorsporty wheels at some point) Such a step up from my old seat ive had for years!

Whats the follower?
I assume you mean cam follower, what are the common issues on these 2.0tfsi (any mods to help prevent issues?) also are these belt or chain driven as my mate claims his a5 is chain on a 2.0t

PCV / Cam Follower / Throttle Body are weak points... the DV less so on the K04.

Belt driven... £349 for Belt and Pump atm at VW. :happy2:

If it was me the first thing id do is change the red part of the splitter to black  :happy2:

But other than that looks amazing!

Congrats on your new Eddie! :happy2:

It's just like mine although I only had the chance to add some gadgets to it. Apart from that it only has better wheels and Eibach Sportlines at the moment.

I'd just paint the splitter to black and the centre grill trim to it's original colour.

Yes me too, not to everyones taste but im keeping it pretty much as i bought it. Im after some different wheels at the moment. Just dont have a clue what ets and widths will be a good fit on the mk5 plateform

Might pop it down to my local vw to be fit if it goes over my head

From what I can tell bottom bit fits in the armrest and top part fits in the glovebox. Someone should be able to confirm if you can use both or only one?

I think you're right but I don't see the need to have both (doubt that it's possible too). Just choose where you want a MDI player to connect USB pen drives or iPods/iPhones. :happy2:

I think the armrest will be best, need to find out if it fits like

i find that the armrest is most convenient saves reaching across to the glovebox if need be.

wiring might already be in place if not might be able to get it from eBay or TPS perhaps?

got a box full of wires and instructions , went down to my one of my local VW dealers.. they didnt seem to have a clue what it is or claim to have seen one. which is shocking, got the reply "it must be from a mk6 golf and not for a mk5". Dont think ill ever be using them again for info or help ha

Lol that is not surprising! When I asked about the cam follower they kept talking about the cam belt then they just said we have never heard of the cam follower. Worst thing is when I ordered the cam follower they sent a sun visor clip instead!

Quick question, the car is running a air intake kit and on after boost i get little chirps, just worried its turbo stall. Is this normal on a mapped car witha exhaust system
