Title: Help and advice please

Hi guys.

I'm off to have a look at a mk5 gti today. Just wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for??

Also what things should I check Etc.

If its got a DSG auto gearbox make sure it goes into drive and reverse smoothly and no juddering or jerking when setting off slowly. If it has walk away... I had the mechatronics unit go on me. Expensive fix!

As well as all the usual checks that you should do when looking at a car, check the bodywork for signs of rust - particularly the front wings and underneath the tailgate badge. Make sure you take it on a decent test drive and check the power delivery is smooth under load.
