Morning All! So....had the GTi serviced yesterday....both rear calipers were sticking...so needed all new Ds&Ps and calipers on rear :surprised:
But it now drives like a new car, now getting mid 30s MPG on my morning commute as opposed to mid 20s!
Cost a small fortune unfortunately; but hopefully no more brake issues for a while!!

Ouch! Had someone changed the pads or discs and not used the correct tool to wined in the piston ?!?

No idea, but I'm good friends with the guy who sorted it all out, he did it at pretty much cost for me, always handy.
But the calipers that went back on were red...thank god.

My brother's Ed30 needed both rear calipers replacing earlier in the year because they were seized. I guess this is more common on low mileage cars as they spend a large amount of time parked up with the handbrake on.

Changed one of my rear calipers few months ago as was binding slightly after new discs and pads
Mpg went up massively after replaced it
Caliper was £70 delivered for Genuine red item on ebay :happy2:

all in for the Service, ds and ps and both calipers was just over £450.
