Power to weight wins every time

I'd be wary of a clean mk1 to be honest, lots end up with a 1.8t or a tuned abf/9a.
But that thing...?! It was flying!

That's just immense. Didn't they do a mk2 as well?
And if you consider that's a built ABF making a thousand ponies... that really is special. Can't beat a good old valver.

Yeh its called the 'vampir mk2' 8.65s 1/4mile and gets to 150mph much quicker than a veyron.

Got to love those 16vt builds.
It's the engine that never was. So much better than the aum/bam if they're done with the right pistons and rods.
Luckily they pulled their finger out and built the TFSI.

love those boba tuned beasts :rolleye: :jumping:

Anyone know how much an engine build like that would cost? I'm guessing between 25 - 30k

Wouldn't surprise me if it was much more, if you take into account labour, fabrication and undoubtedly lots of things breaking along the way! I'd imagine it was anything but straightforward.
It's one hell of an achievement either way. 1000+ hp from a 2 litre four is about as mad as it gets.
Do they even compete in these things, like hillclimbs and stuff? That would be something worth watching. Like Group B but a bit more mental! :-)
-
That would be too fast for hill climb events lol. hell of a rush though.
they probably just use it for drag strips

I have a ABF Mk1 Sportline with throttles and a short ratio box - looks OEM bar the BBS RS and drop in height. Love the looks on people faces when I leave them for dead in their £30k+ motor!

VSGTI - Any pics??
