Title: Difference On AXX & BWA?
Post by: S2YOB on June 01, 2015, 11:52:00 am: Still looking for the right GTI, but am interested in the differences between a AXX & BWA engine? Is either more tunable or have historic issues?

BWA Engine is it stronger or better in any way to the AXX Engine

Post by: dansmith180 on June 28, 2015, 05:28:49 pm: The BWA being a newer engine is better, it had a few updates and is less likely to suffer from timing chain issues and is a bit quiter from what I've read and heard. But a well looked after AXX engine is still very reliable, mine has now done 106k with no real issues and plenty have done much more. Both are just as tuneable as each other.
