Hello all
This is Golf number 11 between me & the wife, Black GTI MkV '05 & its the longest I've had one at coming up on 6 years now.
Just hit first niggle & reading the FAQ's here I think the diverter valve has probably gone, I get a slight bump/misfire at low revs usually when backing off the gas and occasionally it feels like there is no boost (but not all the time).
Other than that in 6 years I had a snapped rear spring & a recall for the coil packs (which Vdub replaced for free), wiring through the tailgate snapped (common fault) -
its been a brilliant car & its going to be around for a while yet.
Cheers
Headless :-)

Just ordered mine from Awesome GTI which im expecting delivery on today. :jumpmove:
Cam Follower kit and Rev G Diverter valve £95 delivered
I thinkthe Rev G is recommended over the piston Rev D.

I'm using WK Auto's in Long Eaton (Nottm) - they are an Evo specialist but Wayne is actually a magician with anything with a turbo on.
A couple of guys I know had remaps done there with great results. Plan on leaving mine as standard though because its awesome anyway :-)

WIN!!!!
the DV was split as per the sticky in the troubleshooting section of the forum -
£90 inc fitting and VAT at WK Auto's
I would say that power is up by a third - was a gooooooood drive home :-)
Got a quote for Cambelt kit + waterpump while I was there £350 - is that a good price (I was expecting £400 to £500 tbh

Welcome Headless! Glad the car is running well after the DV replacement. £350 for a cambelt and water pump change is a good price!

That's a shade less than I paid last time iirc, good price if using genuine bits!

....almost sorted, so I have all the boost but, this morning got engine warning light - ODB2 scanner says code P0642 - google that for VW and looks like could be intake manifold runner control valve or version of the control module software needs updating.
Anyone had this ?
Cheers
