Title: What's the best place to get a guide price for selling my MK5?
Post by: Homer on June 14, 2015, 11:09:27 am
Every time I go to an online site they ask you to sign up and tell you third parties will contact you with promotional materials etc. I usually abandon the process at that stage. The only free one I have found is autotrader, is that reliable enough to go with? I know insurers use Glass's guide but they want you to sign up re what I have said above. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Post the spec etc on here and we'll tell you what we think people will pay for it , what you advertise it for is up to you. I advertise cars for what they are worth not what i want for them ..... Never struggle to sell anything if you price it at the price people want to pay .

A decent mk5 Gti is holding its own on value at moment mate

Later cars with bwa engine and decent spec are obviously going to demand more than a early engined low spec car

Post your spec pal  :happy2:

I've used Parkers & never been bothered with spam or cold calls
You can get a basic price for free on a 2008 car but you need to pay small fee to adjust for milage and options like alloys / leather trim etc.

279 bhp if I recall correctly- been a while since it was on a Dyno. Can't remember torque figures at all.

Cruise control, standard CD multichanger, 17 inch alloys, standard heated side mirrors. Not sure what other spec to put. Any thoughts on valuation? I will give Parkers a try also thanks

Go to 'Cars for Sale' on this forum.
At top of page enter "2008 Gti" into the 'Search' bar.
Plenty of examples there,  :happy2:

Manual or DSG/ high line or midline dash/ which head unit/ leather or cloth/ general condition inside and out?

I would guess between £6250 and £7000 depending on the above really.
