Hi all just bought a edition 30 on a 57 plate.
Can I just buy a cruise control stalk and fit it or not.
What's involved with getting the car to have this option fitted.
Many thanks

Once fitted you will need vcds to code it...

Sorry to seem stuiped but what's vcds
-
As above, you just need to fit the stalk and get it coded. VCDS is the coding platform used on VWs to enable things like cruise control. Whereabouts are you from? Someone near you is bound to have it.

North west London a place called Ruislip
-
I have VCDS but aint got a clue how to code it and i am based in Harefield if that helps :signLOL:

im in walthamstow, can fit and code for you.

Do you have high-line clocks? There is a certain steering wheel controller needed as well.
Please read this thread to understand what you need - being a 57 plate you'll have the wire already going to the ECU, so that's one job down!

Also, look out for the newer shape of the cruise control stalk - version G.

Think I have Highline clocks with full screen also
-
Iv got a stock of cruise stalks if you need one mate.
Im away with work for the next week or so but can sort it once Im back.
Drop me a PM cheers :happy2:

You don't need highline clocks .....I had my ED30 fitted with Cruise and i didn't have them
-
Is this info any different for a normal gti?
-
Apart from the odd midline module. All mk5s which have a trip computer be it midline or highline will support cruise control. Early 55 plates and earlier need an additional wire installed.
