Title: MK6 mirror dial in mk5 problem
Post by: rich83 on June 19, 2015, 01:56:32 pm
Problem....

The mirror fold and heating functions are reversed.... anyone else have that issue?

Might have to swap some wires over.  :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

I have something like this,  I have a Seat door module in my golf to fold the mirrors,  when it was first installed the mk6 switch worked just as it should,  after typically me fiddling with removing the door module and possibly a battery disconnect it now functions all about face except the heating or folding, very bizarre

When I had finished fitting folding mirrors in my mk6, the first time I tested them the switch seemed to operate backwards ie moving left and right individually OK but folding and heating seemed to be the wrong way round.  I was going to take the door panel off again to have a look as I thought I must have bought the wrong switch but after switching the ignition off again, getting out of the car, locking it, going away, coming back a bit later and trying it again, it had miraculously started working properly.  It has since worked fine every time.  Whether it can get 'confused' as to whether the mirrors are folded or not I don't know.  Have you disconnected the battery at all with them folded?  Just guessing really though...
