Title: Fitting cruise to 2006 Gti with half mfd
Post by: marticroft on June 21, 2015, 11:07:42 am
Could do with some advice as wanting to fit cruise control to my Golf Gti 2006. Have read up what steering control module I need.....I currently have a Steering Module 1K0 953 549 BC HW 035 SW0070 Slip ring unit 1K0 959 653C and Rosstech states Dependant on the hardware version of the steering control module I may need to replace.
Will I be able to install cruise?
Will the hardware version be ok with the new code for the cruise stalk?
What data would I expect on the half mfd. when selecting cruise?
I have checked out to see if I have the diagnostic wire in pin 13 located in the black plug at the back of the steering module.
Any help would certainly put me out of my misery
Martin

I fitted it to my last mk5 gti (55 plate registered 2006) I was under the impression at the time that the gti's came with the correct module.

I just bought the stalk, fitted it and activated it via vagcom and never had any issues. The only thing you'll get on midline clocks with regards to cruise is the sort of small rpm clock symbol when using cruise control.

Thanks for that Ricky. Do you remember the steering module and slip ring codes?
