Title: Lights on warning?
Post by: Vwgtiking on June 27, 2015, 06:43:55 pm
I left my lights on after i turned my ignition off,  door open and no warning beep.

But soon as I turn to the side light option with the door open then the warning beep goes off.

Is this normal??

Do you have auto lights?

I think so. I have off. Then an option, then side lights then main lights. Total four options.

with mine I get a beep if I leave them on and open the door but if it's set on auto (second option) then it won't beep.

I believe it's because when on auto they turn themselves off after like 30 seconds or so

No mines on the last option. But it's odd that it beeps with sidelights and not main lights.

Leave it on auto  :signLOL:

I'm not sure if it's a programmable item with VCDS.. maybe fire someone with VCDS a pm.  :happy2:

The warning for the sidelights is actually working it's only if you leave the main lights on I get no warning. I have wired an illumination wire the grey wire behind the switch. Will somehow affect it??

Another update.

Can someone please check there's too.

When I have the key in turned to position 1 after engine running with headlights on upon turning engine off, if I select auto or sidelights, nothing changes, the normal headlights are still on??????  Beeps only on when actual sidelights are physically selected by switch with door open. Yet pls note when selecting sidelights the main lights remain after engine just running.

Wtf is going on?

Yeah that's the coming home/leaving home lights.

You can change this on the highline or VCDS, turn off completely or change the amount of time etc.

Will look in vcds at some stage.

I think before using VCDS, you really ought to read the owners handbook.  Questions you are asking here are all in the handbook.  If you fiddle with settings in VCDS, when you don't actually understand what the basic setting is is just a recipe for disaster . . . no?
