As the title says require rear discs and pads for my edition 30
But am having trouble finding anywhere to purchase them online
Think they are 286mm discs
Thanks

Pretty sure they will be 286mm rear discs, the only larger brake discs are found of 4motion cars (which is a 310mm vented disc). Just get on Euro Car Parts, they're normally very well priced and if you wait till a sale/discount on service parts crops up you can save a few more quid.
Also, go for Pagid items, best OE replacements I'd say. :happy2:

Ive tried ECP cannot find the correct size discs they are all 255 and 260 not big enough.
Pagid is just what I was thinking also.

You can get 282mm solid discs (this eradicates the lip that formed on 286mm)
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Volkswagen_Golf_2.0_2007/p/car-parts/brakes/brake-friction/brake-disc/?104442267&1&d515485708a7884abf0cbde0e25f43c2b1e93e4c&000027
You will get a set with pads for cheaper on ebay if you just want very standard ones

I'll give em a bell tmoz as mine must be original rears and have the rusty lip.

make sure you have chassis number to hand so they can check on etka and cross reference them i don't believe they don't have them unless you got hold of the wrong person on phone? where about are you based ?

If you have a TPS near you they sell a rear brake service kit for the Golf MK5 GTI ( i believe edition 30 has same rear setup) . Paid £100 for Genuine discs, pads, bolts and shims all in one box.

Dont buy from Eurocar parts, the brake disks are typically poor quality and warp in no time (even the supposed Pagid / Brembo). Buy from VW or TPS.
282mm disk fits fine & eradicates the lip (as said earlier).

Is it physically possible to 'warp' a disc.there made of cast iron.....I thought it was an Internet myth
Worth a shot! You could try Sere seat http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=402323
I'm no expert but the platforms do share parts .mk2 FR rears maybe........I'll ask for ya.....could be pissing up the wrong tree

Sorry but I've been using pagid, Brembo, Delphi etc for years and never had a single issue with any of them, they are all premium brand products
Maybe if you go for some really cheap drive tec or similar you may see inferior quality but not on any of the brands mentioned above particularly Delphi

I have just purchased genuine oem pads and discs from TPS as I am replacing my rear calipers as they lost all their lovely red paint and corroded.
The oem discs I got are 286mm and I opted for the more expensive pads (they offer economy pads for cars over 4 year old) as I do the occasional track day and run Stage 1.
All in it cost me £99 inc Vat. I am in their trade club though so not sure if this is available to all.
I almost bought textar from euro car parts but they couldn't source me any pads. They said they were on back order.
I have experienced warped front discs in the past on previous cars, usually when I opted for budget. It is not a nice experience.
I have had some serious heat through my current set of oem discs/pads on track days and they have performed great and not warped.

Hi mate,
I got a full brembo 'standard' setup off these guys in March. Really good price, knew their stuff and the brakes are quality. The plus side dor me is that they were based about 5miles away from me so i picked them up to check the place out. Nice little unit. Totally legit.
