bump.
Anyone know if it Req. anything more then a new mk6 surrounding and a mk6 climatronic panel part. nr 5K0 907 044 ES
what about the pin swap from 16 to 20?
I have a oem rcd510 installed with a gateway part nr. 7N0 907 530AL will it display on the rcd510 when doing changes on the panel?
What about the heated seats as now it's 5 speed and new one is 3 speed? do i need to do any tweakings on VCDS with that or will it work just fine?
And what about VCDS basic settings etc?
Please help asap
-
You need to do the pin swap and code the panel. The coding is simple, just need to select the option with no sensor if you haven't fitted the AQS.
Then you need to reset the panel and check if your AC compressor starts and if your air recirculation works. You can also change the temperature from Fahrenheit to Celsius or vice-versa, depending on the settings that you need and that your panel is set. There are DIY online on how to retrofit the panel that explain all these questions.
I have heated seats too and they work without needing any other fiddling.

The RCD-510 displays the climatronic changes automatically, so you don't need to worry about that.
It was a friend of mine that did the pin swap (and the OPS sensors, the RVC, door warning lights, rear footwell lights, and Bluetooth loom update). For him it's very easy...

Readed somewhere that pin 16 and 20 are not the same bases or pins. Or will 16 fit in 20 place if removed the whole pin? Or do i need to cut them both?

They're not the same size so need cutting.

Or getting a loom fron a golf mk6 where the pins are correct size and colour on the cables...

Did this to be able to switch back to mk5 clima easy!
The left connector is mk5 and right mk6.

Then remove both pins and cut the black/green off (you don't use it anyway) snd solder it to the other red/yellow cable.

Possibly in Andrew Pages or another motor factors but they will be more expensive than eBay!
-
So 3932 tool is the correct to remove one or both pins?

I've not got one I had to buy a kit but It should do the job - watch a few YouTube videos to help you out https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1OQevVIglTE
-
Guess i will order the tool. I don't want to do any damage to it if i will re-install the mk5 unit sometimes.

You want to go to VW and ask for a Jetta with climatronic surround. They are order in but £12!! I didn't like the mk6 in mine so got rid.
-
Why jetta and not golf mk6 surround?
Writen with my fingers
-
The mk6 surround is a different shape to the mk5, it starts under the radio and only covers the heater controls. The mk5 surround goes up to the top of the radio almost. Check out some pictures you'll see the difference. The Jetta surround is the shape you need. If you search for old posts on here and elsewhere on the net, it has been covered hundreds of times before and someone even shares the PN for the Jetta surround. I gave the receipt to the new owner of mine so don't have it to hand.
-
Ain't the golf mk6 climatronic surround same as jetta?

@K9 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6852) Com'on man! You were told they're different. Do a bit of research before making questions and listen to the people trying to help you.
You can easily search a picture of a Golf mk6 dashboard and see that the surround is different. You need the Jetta mk6 surround. Done!
-
I allways thought that it should be the mk6 surround
Is this corecct part nr 1KD 858 069 1QB?
-
It's 1K0 858 069 N 1QB. You just missed the N (revision letter). :happy2:
-
Any ideas what dealers take for one nowdays?
Cant find it on ebay :o
-
I bought one from VW 2 years ago for my GT Sport and it cost me then 43,53 €.
For the Ed. 30 I bought the pack (climatronic panel and Jetta mk6 surround) from Bold Sport.
-
Will go down to vw and ask tomorrow.

I paid £17 for mine earlier in the year but they had to order it in.
