Title: Had new discs and pads - now dodgy noise?

Hey all,

I had new discs and pads all round on my Jetta about 200 miles ago. They were fitted at the main dealers but have now developed an odd noise under gentle braking.

It's kind of hard to describe but consistent with wheel speed I get silence followed by a squeeky/grindy/rubber noise followed by silence... rinse and repeat. They are having the car next week anyway and added it to their list of things to check, but can anyone suggest a likely cause? I assume nothing will fall off my car or is dangerous as they didn't seem overly concerned.
