Title: Is this about right for a full service including the spark plugs?

Hi,

Just wondering if this sounds right.
I have booked my car in for a full service which includes the spark plugs at a local specialist, and he has quoted £240 for the job.
Does this sound about right? seems expensive to me.

Depends what full service includes and if he is using genuine parts

i'd price up the parts then see what labour charge is tbh

To put it in context a major service at the stealers is £299.

Sounds a bit too much to me...

Oil service should be about 120-130

Spark plugs are what 20quid for 4 and plus 30mins labour...


Should be sub 200 quid IMO

For that I'd expect

Oil and filter
Air filter
Pollen filter
Spark plugs
Inspection service

Minimum

That's basically what you get at VW for their £299 major service.
