First DSG car ever.....old ED30 were all manual
Plans
Keeping it OE
or
KW Clubsports
Anti lift
APR Stage 2+
APR pump
Cruise for APR ECMS
APR RSC
Quaiffe
Brakes.....Tarox BBK
Cupra or Stop Tech
Rear Tints
Spacers
17 inch Dunlop Direzza's on suitable track wheels
Decisions decisions
Been down this path before
Still got my TSR 16V 2 litre track toy with Schrick 276/268 cams TSR/Crissel polished head, 9A balanced bottom end new Sachs sports clutch Quaiffe and 4.25 drive
End result after 202bhp following fettling on Kjet by my old race engine builder from Tim Stiles of old.
Hence my may just may keep ED30 OE??

Very nice and low mileage :happy2:

Noice!
I'll follow this thread as I'm sure it will be a track monster within a few months ;)

Let RTech remap it... And see what they can do with a dsg ed30...
You won't sell it as quick as the other duo :signLOL:
Don't bother with APR
Don't know much about Rtech
Had APR Stage 1,2, 2+ and their big turbo kit before
Had Revo too
Found APR very smooth and progressive and I like their R&D together with their OE approach to tuning via cruise control.
Does the DSG map make a big difference?
-
That's a good example you've bought there - nice mileage!
I must admit, I didn't expect to have a DSG, but after driving one, it sort of made sense.
Not really sure about the DSG maps - think they make the change speed even faster(!), but you lose the DSG burp on gearchanges, I've read.
-
Thanks for your replies.
DSG is new to me.....I'm a bit wary of mapping a DSG car TBH as I've read of a few issues with DSG mechatronic issues and other things.
Are they safe to go stage 1?
Is it correct that they torque limit the map?
I was also considering a TT QS 240 as a toy as they are now getting rare and hard to find with low miles.
Drove one recently and was very impressed with performance and grip so will see how I get on with the DSG ED30.

No you don't, they are louder.. I have a non res Milltek fitted with its Cat still installed. :happy2:
Also shifts are smoother and quicker with a DSG remap. :happy2

Thanks
So sounds like this will cost me twice as much one map for the engine and a separate one for DSG?? I think that will mean approx £1200 to APR then or am I wrong?

Thanks Steve
I'll check them out.
I may keep it OE as I have a track weapon but just may upgrade to stage 1 and put a RNS Sat Nav into the car if I decide to keep it longer term
