I'm looking for a new set of edition 30 carpet mats
The black with the red edging
I've spoken to dealer, not much help they can only get the ones with the GTI logo
I've also did a topic search but can't come up with a exact answer if they are available or not :-(
I found these part numbers for individual mats but these numbers have been omitted without replacement I'm told.
1K2 864 436 C WNS
1K2 864 435 C WNS
If anyone can help, or knows of the correct parts number would be much appriciated.
Thanks Chris.

Hi Chris,
I made enquiries with VW UK a couple of years ago, here is the response:
I got in touch with VW uk about this and they eventually replied after consulting with their parts support team:
Thank you for your recent contact in relation to obtaining carpet mats for your vehicle. Please accept my apologies for the
delay in my response.
I was sorry to learn that you have been unable to obtain the parts which you require for your Edition 30 GTI. I have spoken with
our Parts Support Team and I can confirm that the part numbers you require for these mats are:
Front: 1K2864435CWNS and 1K2864436CWNS RRP £40.50 plus VAT each.
Rear: 1K0864452BWNS and 1K0864451BWNS RRP £31.76 plus VAT each.
These can be obtained from any Volkswagen UK Retailer. I hope this information proves useful. Thank you for contacting
Volkswagen UK.
Hope this helps someone who is brave enough to fork out that amount....

Expensive for mats though I think. There are a few sets on ebay for around £60
-
For what it's worth, a year ago these were obsolete according to VW Newcastle and Sunderland. I'd try JustMatz for some custom made black with red edging. The GTI ones (embroidered with GTI logo) from VW only come in grey I believe.

I'm sure I have a full set of Edition 30 mats laying around somewhere, they are not new though.

I'm told the above part numbers are discontinued

Our cars are getting forgotten by VW. :sad1:
The Edition 30 badge is also discontinued.

Get some copies from ebay or the world wide interwebs. Plenty of companies around can do those mats with just a red trim, no heal plate and the same colour. The OEM ones are a rip off.
:happy2:

VW classic parts stock them; http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/gti-collection/inscription-edition-30-1k0853675ahktp.html
Back to the topic of mats - I'd either get a set of custom made ones, or wait for a set to maybe come up for sale. I got a new set of fronts from a seller on here last year...

@Dave J (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6566) One of my first orders was a couple of those badges from Germany, most likely from that store. The price was the same.
Well, custom made mats is the reasonable choice. :happy2:

Try driving a Corrado!!
VW really sh*t on their heritage. Manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes really support owners who drive older cars, with really good parts accessability. They see it as a badge of honour that their old cars are still on the road.
Whereas VW seem to see it as an embarrassment. Really winds me up, and this is coming from somebody who has driven VW's since a mk1 VW Polo Coupe
