Title: Noise on cold start?

I have noticed recently that onnly on cold start up I can hear a "metallic tapaty" type of noise that lasts about 1 -2 seconds after that it's fine. Is this any concern?

Posting a sound recording would help in the type of response you'll get for that type of issue :happy2:

As a suggestion I think it would be best with the hood open and someone else starting whilst you have your recording device within the engine bay.

I'll be interested in people's thoughts on this as my car also makes this noise... It's almost like a metallic rattle but it literally lasts for about a second

Mine makes a slight grating sound that only lasts for a second on cold starts but I think mine is more transmission related.

Since I started this thread on here I have yet o hear it again  :confused:
